Our Story
MAKA is more than a restaurant for us — it’s part of our journey.
We grew up around food, family, and long meals shared together. Coming from Peru and Spain, those moments shaped the way we see hospitality — not just as service, but as something that brings people together.
After years working in hospitality and running our own cafés in London, we wanted to create something that truly reflected who we are. A place where we could share the flavours we grew up with, in a way that feels relaxed, honest, and welcoming to everyone.
That’s how MAKA was born.
The name comes from maca, a root from the Peruvian Andes known for its strength and energy. For us, it represents our roots, our culture, and everything that keeps us moving forward.
Our menu is inspired by the food we eat at home — fresh ceviche, lomo saltado, and dishes full of bold, comforting flavours. Simple food, done properly, meant to be shared.
MAKA is our way of bringing a piece of home to London — a place where you can eat well, feel welcome, and enjoy good moments with the people around you.
